Global Game Jam 2015

The game I worked on for global game jam 2015 in halifax, nova scotia.

this years theme was "what do we do now?".

we ended up focusing on WE, making it a 2 player game. we decided it would be fun to do a diablo style isometric hack and slash. but the 2 characters are chained together. to make things a bit of a struggle we made one a melee character who wants to get in close to the enemies, while the other is a weaker mage who wants to be far away from enemies.

fun to work on. love the goats. i got to practice some AI, path finding, obstacle avoidance stuff which i hadn't done much on since college a few years back.

the game i did at work during 2013/2014

worked on this one during 2013/2014. it was a good chance for me to learn more about working with unity and console development.

Ludum Dare 32

so in july 2015 myself and some friends from work participated in the ludum dare 32. a 72 hour game development challenge. and this is what we made.

the theme for this one was "unconventional weapon", and we went with a theme where a poltergeist is in a house and tried to attack and occupants with normal everyday things found in the house before the people escape.

it ended up being a bit like a tower defence, except the weapons were kind of towers that only lasted a few seconds then went away.

Monster truck destruction

I thought I'd just post another update of some stuff that I've been working on during 2013. I had the privilege of working with an indie studio called "ODD Games" earlier in the year. They were a good group of guys, and it's good to see some game development happening in my home town Adelaide in South Australia. So I worked with them on the Android/amazon and Windows 8 versions of Monster truck destruction. here is a couple screen shots and a link to the Google play page:

Global Game Jam 2013

So I entered the Global Game Jam again this year. The 2013 Theme was the sound of a beating heart, so my time decided to go with the theme of a barbarian warrior who eats the hearts of his fallen enemies to gain their strength. As all game jams go we designed lots of levels but only ended up finishing 1 within the 48 hour limit but still had lots of fun making it.

Littlest Pet Shop

I thought I'd add another game that I got to work on. The Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Game. Unfortunately I didn't get to work as closely on this game as I did with the zoo and pony games. But I still got to contribute to some of the User Interface and Localization tools and pipelines.
